I have tried to do a search on "vacuume line replacement" in hopes of finding a good thread or DIY on the rats nest vacuume line change out. Can someone point me in the right direction? Also do I need to get any new gaskets when I do the rats nest vacuume line reliabilty mod?

Are you just trying to replace the rubber with silicone? No there is no gaskets involved as long as your just replacing the tubing.

Yes I am just trying to replace the old rubber hoses with the silicon ones. I thought that the UIM would have a gasket to replace but I have never taken it off so this is my first big 7 undertaking

Thanks,
Shogun

Also where is the best place to get the hose kit? I was going to just get the one from the rx7store but if there is a better quality kit out there I would like to know before I order it.

Don't expect to just replace hoses....be prepared to have to replace check valves, solenoids, fuel pulsation dampener, etc. This is not a one afternoon job, if done PROPERLY. If you are not experiencing boost problems, I would suggest NOT doing it.

I agree 100% with Rynberg, It you don't have to do it then don't.

If you have a hard Y-Pipe, you may want to have a new metal gasket on hand for that.

If the UIM/TB have never been taken off, it may still have the old paper gaskets (unlikely), but if it does, you'll need to replace those. You'll WANT to get new Fuel Pulsation Dampner/Fuel lines while you're in there, easier to replace them while you have everything apart. Possibly may want to replace the turbo coolant lines as well, while you have the intake stuff out. Another good idea is to send your fuel injectors off to RC-Engineering to have them cleaned and flow tested. It is a PITA to get it all done and done right. It took me a little over a week, maybe 2 to get it done and back up and running (took my time though).

But I agree with the others, I wouldn't do it unless I had to, or if you're REAL bored and masochistic.

Thanks for all the info! I am haveing some boost issues, but I think it may be related to my pre-cat being clogged. I am going to install a greddy downpipe and a few other parts in a few weeks. I will wait till then to determine if I need to change out the hoses.
