vacuum line replacement parts question

I'm about to do a vacuum line replacement job on my fd...only one problem. Called hose techniques today to order up some new silicone vacuum lines and they are back ordered 8 weeks. Is there another good brand to go with or is it worth waiting the 8 weeks?

I'd either wait or Google around and find a vendor that resells their hose and has it in stock.

It's great stuff.

This is a job you want to do ONCE, not come back a year later and replace it all.

I called them last week and they were out. How do you run a hose company and not have hose???????

I ended up getting it from Baker's and if you ask they will even ship it USPS which saves a few dollars. I did a search and a lot of people referred them.

Does the quality of baker's seem near the quality of hose techniques? I've heard mixed things on baker.

looks like you're right. I bought 4mm from them for a different project, so I didn't know they didn't have 3.5mm.

OH Ohh, vacum hose...carefull...

I'd call Lucky @ Hose Tech. back and beg for a few feet that may be layin around the shop, might pay off???lol.

I have used some FEED silicone vac hose, you could try RHD Japan. Its a ugly kinda light/aqua blue (I think its FEED, havin a brain fart on that), but its good stuff. Cant go wrong w/Hose Tech though. Good luck.

Hey, I bet Jegs has 100% seemless silicone vac hose.

already talked to Lucky at hose tech. The best they had was some silver hose, not the color i'm looking for and not enough hose.

I've been calling around the country to anyone who list they sell hose techniques silicone hose and been coming up with nothing. Called banzai racing today as they list they use hose techniques when they do customers cars hose replacement jobs. They lady on the phone refused to sell me any hose, saying it's only for sale when they use it in their shop. And if they sold me hose it would deplete their supply, and they don't sell the hose because other places sell it. So why does their company sell anything?

What I don't understand is... every shop I've ever worked in is more than happy to sell you any product they can, that is why they are in business. Even if it is a "shop supply" They still charge you for it if you were to take your car to them, that little column called "parts" on your bill. Rotary Performance, doesn't list vacuum line on their website. But they were more than happy to sell me theirs.

We buy bulk hose from Hose Techniques to perform vacuum line jobs on customers' cars. We do not offer hose kits or sell it by the foot on our site.

If you would like to schedule your car in for a vacuum line job we will gladly provide the hose while performing the service.

Depleting our inventory by selling it, then not having any for customer's cars does not make any sense.

We have a similar policy for internal engine components, we stock rotors, housings, irons, apex seals, etc....all for engine rebuilds that we are performing. We do not sell engine parts or rebuild kits, yet we build engines every week. Again it is a service we provide, not a product that we are selling.

I hope that clears up any confusion.

I called HoseTechniques yesterday and they again said 6-8 weeks. They said if you are a business and can do a bulk order they can work something out. Then about a minute after that they said send them an email and they will notify you when available. After that they said they are going to rush produce 3.5mm red, and it may be available next week...

I think the more and more people we can have call in and ask, they faster they will get it done. Maybe they stopped or slowed production due to low orders, but now everyone is wanting hose for spring projects???

Banzai racing sorry for the misunderstanding. I didn't mean to consider myself as a customer by attempting to make a purchase of goods from you with money. Thats what we consider a customer around here. I wouldn't want to deplete your inventory of anything for your customers, so you won't have to worry about me trying to make any purchases from you again.

Wow! Don't have any idea where that came from.

Just so you know we only stock SILVER in large quantities, so we would not have been able to help you anyway, even if we sold hose (which we don't). It's funny that you make such a huge deal about us not selling you something that we do not even have in stock. You did not even bother to ask if we stocked specific colors, before getting all bent out of shape.

I'm much more displeased with the way I was spoken to. Like people who only purchase parts from you and not services are not customers to you.

Show me anywhere on our website that says we SELL Hose Techniques hose.

We state that we USE it:

"At Banzai Racing we use Hose Techniques Silicone Vacuum Hose"

I really do not know what your problem is. You were simply told that is not an item we have available for sale. You say above that RP will sell it to you, so why aren'y you buying it from them?

I've have already purchased vacuum hose, I am not questioning if you sell the hose or not, you have beaten the point to death you do not and will not sell the hose. All I'm saying is the way you spoke to me, gave me the opinion that people who only buy parts from you are not your main priority.
