vacuum hose job material?

Hi,

I am trying to decide what to use to redo the rats nest, I am concerned about how easily silicone hose falls apart if nicked or slightly cut in anyway. I'm also concerned about it reacting with any gas or oil that should come across that area. What are my other options, has anyone found the factory style hose available as a role?

Thanks,

Andrew Wojteczko

I just finished installing the Hose Techniques.com kit, and I have to say it is a great kit. The labor involved sucks ***, but the product that Hose Techniques sells is top notch!!

I used hosetech. So did mindphrame. In fact, I used what he had left over, and I didn't use very much of it, because I did the simplification.

If you're concerned about oil and gas then use viton on those lines. You can get them (and everything in the whole world ) from mcmaster. Silicone will degrade in the presence of oil, but its really not that big a concern.
