vacuum hose help

Alright, we all know how hard it is to track down a vacuum leak. Well I tracked it down, but how do you fix it? Under the manifold a vacuum line comes out that has a white bubble thing (don't know what it is), however it is right below one that is yellow. This line then runs under the pressure box and connects to a plastic connector mounted on top of the engine, between the alternator and the manifold. The plastic L-arm that comes out of the connector and attaches to the hose is broken off and the hose just dangles there. The question is how do you get in there to fix it, and is it worth the effort, or wait until the seals need to be replaced and then do it. My seals have never been done and the car has 72k on it. No mods yet.

Went and got educated. I believe the vacuum line in question runs into the double throttle control solenoid valve. How important is this to be connected. The can runs pretty good, except for a small idle oscillation immediatly after you push in the clutch at a stop light. Jumps up and down 300 rpm about 3 times and then stops. thanks

It's not that important, but it either needs to be connected or plugged up. If it's just left open, it's a vacuum leak.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know how difficult, or what is entailed in getting the double throttle solenoid valve off of the rail? Can it be done without taking off major components from the top of the motor? Thanks

Just doing a little reading on past theards and another question arose. If I simply plug the lines, do I need to do anything else?
