V mount vs CF vented hood?
I'm sort of in a dilemma and of course like everyone else on this forum i come to everyone for advice...i currently have a front mount intercooler set up on my car and it's definetly not getting enough air circulation so i'm thinking going to one or the other i get around 85-88C's when driving around town and i know of people that get 79-81C's when driving around with a V mount setup before i spend the money i'm just wondering what most of you think i should do go v-mount or vented hood.

I don't agree. I have built 2 V mounts and there is plently of empirical evidence (street & track) that they are extremely effective and work very well with the stock hood, undertray and even the '93 nose. Not only are water and intake temps well controlled, but underhood temps are reduced substantially; again this is with the stock, unvented hood.

You do realize that the stock thermostat is just getting to be fully open around 85C? Those temps are fine.

i'm talking about water temps...well if you are sitting in traffic or you bring it around a few laps at the track the rad will be heat soaked without proper air flow going through the rad... i understand 85-88 are good water temps but i like to take care of my car and would like honest answers or solutions that have worked for you or other members that you would recommend to me i'm not concerned i know over heating wont be a problem but better air flow is never a bad thing...that's for the info Mahjik...and FD3S2005 no need for the 2 cents of sarcasm and i'm not complaining just trying to ask knowledgeable people a question.

yeah man, you don't know what you're talking about. if your car ran at 79, your car isn't fully warmed up. 85 is fine. when you start hitting 90's is when it might be a problem.

If the cost is not a problem then a V- mount is by far better. You get better response for your turbo, you have much lower temps in the engine bay (since the hot air from the fans is been directed under the car),its much mor efficient at lower speeds since you feed it directly with fresh air !
