I've read this forum for a little while and many mention street ported rotary. What exactly does that do? There's no way i can get a new engine in there? it seems like many other parts need to be replaced as well.

Oh Damn. I wouldn't go for it unless you know what you're doing. Try to find a blown engine and fix it. Same price less labor

Definantly not a project I would reccomend you take on unless you have experience in fixing cars. Looks like a lot of parts you would have to fix plus lots of diagnosing since much more could be fried/melted than originally expected. $8000 seems like an okay deal for a 94-95, but it all depends on mileage etc.

It doesn't look that bad, just pull out the entire engine to get it rebuilt, and get a single turbo upgrade as well and you'll be set. Heck it did not even melt the AST tank so it could not have been that bad

Good luck

P.S. Thats a bit too high of a price for that car though, it can be rebuilt but i think that guy is asking too high for it.

here is the picture of the codition i baught my FD, its not easy and something always happends to make a project more difficult, ok when i saw the car for sale i went to look at it and got a good price (so then i need a entire front clip) i then called as many junkyards as i could till i found one and i told that idiot over the phone that i needed and entire front clip with everything in the engine bay and the hood fenders front bumper etc... so the guy is like yeah i have a complete front clip with everything for $4500 and here is where i fucked up i didnt go see the clip at the junkyard till i baught the burned FD so next day i call the guy to confirm the price and get directions then i go to the junkyard with my dad and talk to the same idiot and he showed us the car and it did have everything but when i mention the price the guy said i didnt give that price i told you it was$7500 so my dad went-off on the guy and we argued for several minutes and left along with a I TOLD YOU SO from dad on the way home, a week later i got a number of a guy who ships car parts from japan. so he tells me that he could get me an entire right hand drive front clip but it will take a couple of months to find a good motor and ship it (and im like fine i have time to save more money) so i go to LA to go and put my deposit and 8 MONTHS LATER the front clip is their so go back to LA to check out and pay for clip and shiping to my home i go back to san diego and a week later the shiping truck pulls up to my house and put the front clip on the liftgate and guy says its not going down because its too wide and it will tip over on the way down so the shiping guy says im going to take back to are nearest location so back goes the front clip (ill post the video later when i find the tape) i then call the shiping company and they tell me that i need to rent a fork-lift and i tell them that my recipt says residential delivery and told them to call the guy from the other shiping location in LA, so then i call back and they say that they talked to manager from the LA location and he said he had delivered front clips before but the manager from the san diego location did not want to take reponsibility if the front clip fell, next day i call them back again and tell them my brothers idea to back up two liftgate trucks and lower the front clip at the same time so they said yeah we could do that and 3 days later they delivered my front clip. now the car has been sandblasted and painted and later today i have to pick up my new clutch and get my flywheel resurfaced so i can finally drop the motor in.

this is my longest post ever

and sorry if i bored you guys.

If you can wait a couple of months I will have all of the parts needed to build that car. At that time I will have the complete engine. Harness, all duct work radiator intercooler hoses allaccessories and PS and AC hoses. The only thing I wont have is the body harness. All for $2500 .n Engine has 40K on it.

Offer $4K......... but only if the rest of the vehicle is in good shape. You're buying a nightmare that you will never wake up from.

Yeah I'm looking at the same car, well until I got the pics. That thing is FRIED, fixable yes, lots of work, YES.

I've done two fire cars, they hardly had any fire damage compared to that car.

To fix it source a complete motor, sell off what you don't end up needing. The engine wiring harnesses are hard to find used, even harder to find in good shape. I ended up buying a new one for the last burn car I did.

$8K is way to much, salvage title, big fire damage, don't forget it has 185,000 miles, other things will be worn too.

I'd do $4K, anything over that is a lot due to the very high overall mileage.

In my opinion, if that car has 185k, its useless. I find it hard to believe though... 185k? Thats an aweful lot for an 8-9 year old car

If you fix it, its still a worn out car

If the wiring harness is fried I wouldn't touch it...everything else can be fixed

The owner stated the mileage, twice, 185K miles. Hard to believe he'd lie about the mileage being so high. All 93's were built in 91 and 92, the 94's I've seen have been built in 93, so it is most likely 9+ yrs old. Anyway I agree that is just a TON of miles for any 94. The entire car needs to be gone through, not just the motor. Drivetrain, suspension, etc.

Wiring harnesses aren't hard to replace, body damage is harder to fix.
