did you purge your radiator? if not, air bubbles are in there - airbubbles in radiator/motor = bad.

I would agree. Purge your system, make sure it is free of air and it is full. The system is kinda tough to fill without bubbles the first couple times until you get the hang of what your doing.

Also, make sure you are using the filler neck to check coolant level, and not the resevoir.

100 is not overheating. If you temps went up to 130-140 then I would start worrying. As long as your stock temp gauge is working properly and it is not climbing, then dont worry about it. The fans should bring your temps backdown, unless there is something else that is wrong.

Don't wait until the temp gets to 130C to start worrying because you'll have a fried engine at that point. I believe about 110C is the start of overheating and that's when you should begin to worry!

I agree. I've only seen as high as 109 once on my commander. This after whooping a modified rustang from 0 to 150 multiple times on a very hot day last summer. I was freaking out--had the heat on high, fans on, etc. I haven't seen over 95 degrees since.

Something is definitely wrong. I hope you have another car to drive to work/school etc. Don't drive the 7 as it is now.

Put in a new thermostat and purge that sucker repeatedly over a week's time.

At idle your temps are going to keep rising until the fans come on no matter what. With no airflow what do you expect? You can have XS or someone with a dataloggit retune the PowerFC to make the fans come on earlier if you like. FWIW, 100C is 212F, this is not overheating. Stock cars turn on the fans at 221F (105C), if your temps keep climbing past that at idle, then I'd be worried.

I've seen 232 F on mine w/ stock Rad, pettit AST, and vented hood. Cruising, though, I sit at about 190.
