Very nice engine bay. Optima battery? The wheels -without expressing an opinion - well don't all good things come in threes - muskateers, wise men, three kings from the orient, pep boys, ummm what am I missing.

Geez so many negative feedback about Garfinkle's car.. I personally like most of the stuff done to Gar's car. Its clean and he sure spent time getting things right.

Here are more professional pic of his car. I know most of you hate his 3 spoke rims.. but its starting to grow on me..

It looks like we've got an old school hot-rodder who subscribes to the "if it don't move, chrome it" philosophy, but a Hearst shifter handle? WTF?!?

haha, david isnt 25 ya know. . . id say you hit the nail on the head. david comes from a different era of customization.

the hurst handle threw me off when he said he was gonna put it in. i really thought he was making a mistake, but when i saw it. . . and noticed it wasnt a pure "T-handle" installation, i was relieved. it feels really good also.

david, when are you putting the "truxterosa" body kit on? i cant wait to ride in that thing. . . especially when you hang the compact disc from the rear view. . . man, that makes the chics jock hard, yo!!!

Poor Garfinkle. I don't even know the guy and I am feeling sorry for him at this point, falling into this den of wolverines!

I don't like the wheels, the shifter, the flaming steering wheel cover, the excessive chrome in the engine bay, the battery hold down, ... But you could eat off that engine! Overall it is very clean and the guy should get his props for a lot of hard work regardless of a few personal choices some of us would not have made.

Where's the love?

No, there are cars I hate more, but putting caps and covers on every nut, bolt, and accessory in the engine bay went out with the 80s. I'm surprised he doesn't have a two-tone paint job with hot pink and mint green tear-away graphics.

Man it is getting harder and harder to make EVERYONE happy these days!
Truth of the matter is that every 7 owner loves their car even if it is just sitting there suffering from its 3rd blown engine! David has put a lot of work into that car and as long as he likes what he sees when he goes in the garage then that is all that really matters.

Kudos on your work Garfinkle

maybe we should make it a socialist affair, and start redistributing the mods in order to get everybody an FD that makes everybody happy.

I wouldn't say hated, I would say "criticized".

When you have that much done to your car, there is more for people to talk about. In one regard, not that David cares but I feel for him. In most cases when people post their cars, I tell them tough luck if people start ragging on their car. They posted the pictures so that's basically asking for it. In this case, David didn't post his own pictures so he didn't necessarily "ask for it".

I guess its my fault... Sorry about that David! (even thought someone brought this thread back from 2004). I personally thought it was amazing to see such CLEAN car.. polished or chromed (even though all his parts are polished).

I do understand where Jim Lab is coming from.. But 80s, 90s, or current trend, someone put huge amounts of time into it... For that I admire david's car. Also, its better to see it in person than thru these pics.

That's a gorgeous car from head to toe. I might not have chosen the same style for some components (I'm heavily biased toward 5 spoke wheels and leather shifter *****), but everything is very well done. And the photography is stellar.

But in any case if this thread keeps going I'm going to have to close it or merge it into the big pics thread. Hint, hint.

Dave
