FWIW, I had the Pettit aluminum adapter plates remade in steel (stiffer and stronger), with new measurements so that the brake-pad tops are NOT sticking above the rotor, and the rotor is more centered between the caliper.

I'll be testing them out in early May, and may have them available for sale if there is a need.
