unorthodox waterpump pulley install

maybe i got a wack waterpump pulley but I can NOT get the pulley on because it has a bit thicker walls than the stock pulley and it hits the large coolant tube in from of the waterpump at a bad angle, so i cant slide it on :-(

do i have to take that dam coolant hose off the engine in order to get the pulley on?

I havnt seen anyone having to do this on the forum?
