Running perfect.

Car was purchased in May. Been driving it to work and back, about 40 miles a day.
Since I bought it, I look forward to getting up in the morning and going to work.

That about sums it up for me. Having to be at my Battalion at 0430 hours always sucked, but blasting onto post in the FD always made it better.......you know you have something special when you jump out of bed at 0330 in the morning to get ready for work

Ok, I'll play along. I replaced the engine back in November ('03) and since I have not had any problems. I have driven my car to work (only about 10 miles round trip) almost every day since except for about 3 or 4 due to snow. That is about all the snow we typically get in Seattle each winter. Rain is another story though... my FD sees plenty of rain - otherwise I'd never get to drive it! I have taken it on a couple road trips (400+ miles) since November. It ran great and averaged 23.9 mpg for the 2 trips. Now mpg for city driving is another story... Oh well, that is not why I own the car anyway. I totally agree with Goodfella and Mazda99 about the FD making the mornings a little brighter.

bad ***, i know you got a big smile when you spool that turbo up!

as for my car, runs almost perfect. just front suspension 'clicking' (wheel bearing, control arm, sway bar endlinks, something) when i'm making full left or right turns, and occasionally when coming to a stop. but other than that runs perfect.

started it up after getting home after a friend called me up to see if i wanted to do a spirited run in the back roads here. i agreed. warmed her up, then went for a spirited ride on some twisties. for a short portion of the run, had it in 3rd doing several 5k-to-redline pulls coming out turns. car feels good, engine strong, nice turbo spool whine very audible echoing from the surrounding trees. gotta get a boost gauge to make sure the secondary is hitting 10psi, but i don't see why it wouldn't (was inspected by mechanic during overhaul). not to mention it pulls strong.

hope it feels and runs this good for many years to come.

Both my RX7s one is 11 years old and the other is 9 years old, both are in mint condition! Both like new! Never had problems with either of them, but than again I don't really drive them unless its the weekends. I've only put 280 miles on my '95 since I've owned her to keep the miles down.

I thought you sold the black one?

Anyway, mine is running great. Last month I took it on a 2-day, 1100 mile trip to NC and back. Performed flawlessly. The only thing that's gone wrong with it so far, is one of the glove box hinges broke off, and the drivers side exterior door handle broke last week. Just need to pick up a new handle.

Year and a half of daily driving. My baby purrs like a happy kitten. She still needs some things like new bushings and motor mounts, but she's such a pleasure to drive none the less.

You have 2 nice FD's over there MR Turbotuner , Verry nice

Something tells me that the mighty V8 conversion will cost just a bit more time and money. I never intend to find out. Best of luck to you
To each their own Goodfella , when he gets his ls1 swap done hes going to have a monster for likely much less of an investment than it would cost to get the rotary to push out the same HP and still be less than half as reliable as the V8. I wish I could say my fd was running sweet but it will be in a couple of months, hopefully!

my runs fine, drive it to and from work. the secret is to leave it alone (well, most things anyway )

any post on reliability issues for 3rd gens should be directed to this thread. can be quite daunting for anyone interested in buying a 3rd gen and reading post on this forum (especially when there is so much rumored crap out there already)

Mine is the only car I drive. 107K+ miles so far, running like a top. Now the stereo, however, needs work.
