help... i got a rebuild about 7 months ago and...

back in August... i drove down to L.A.(I am in Sacramento)
my A/C was workin and after the grapevine, my a/c died.
I was at a red light and I decided to turn on my a/c to see why it didnt work anymore(air blows but no cool air)
I turned it to MAX.. and my car idled rough.. and DIED. I had to turn off the a/c and restart my car...

they recharged my a/c after my rebuild..what can it possibly be?

Possibly, sounds like the EL controller isent upping your idle under load...Its not cold besides you need coolent more than likely

How often do you use it? It could really be out. A service shop should be able to test this and some A/C systems even have a little eye (fluid level gauge) to show fluid level.
I don't have A/C in mine and have ripped it out of just about every car I've owned, so I am not sure how long you can expect to go between fills.

I have quickly searched and come up with two. There are more but here ya go. One talks about the clutch switch stalling the car with A/C on and the other talks about electrical load causing hunting issues.

I know with my FD the fan switch only register ELD on settings one and three. No biggie to me, this is at the bottom of the to do list.
Sorry if those don't help.

If anyone needs a compressor I've got one I'll sell for $50 shipped. Super low mileage and worked great when I removed it.

You probably have a leak in your system some where. The mechanic probably refilled it without checking for leaks (idiotic, but they do it all the time). You will need to have your mechanic check the charge level. If it is low, then he needs to run dye through the system to see where the leak is. Problem is that they need to recharge the system and some will be lost in the search. $$$ As far as the idle situation, MrRX probably has it right.
