well, reading another thread earlier i came across this post...

so, just to try and have a minute impact on all the negativity out there and the stigma our cars seem to have, here it goes. i got in my car this morning. it fired right up :D drove it to work via 95S (didn't get pulled over since i wasn't speeding or anything, no wrecks either). got to work, she was running at 88C so i let her sit for just a minute (i can't boost for at least the last 5 minutes of driving... military base, i'm paranoid... you get the picture?) then shut 'er down. when i went to lunch, she was still running at good temps nice and strong.

feel free to share your GOOD experiences with your FD :D i here there's an SCCA event in Aberdeen, MD this weekend at Ripkin Stadium. i think i'm gonna swing past and see what its all about... not racing myself though, need to get this rear suspension issue cleared up first. (ok, so my car isn't running perfect, but its damn close to it :D)

REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wish I could tell the whole world how great my car is running!!!! I'd give ANYTHING to tell you guys how great it's running! But I can't until it does.

Hopped in the FD this mornin, then I fired her up. Let her sit for a bit.

Pulled out of my driveway, didnt get in a wreck or anything, made it to work in one piece, and whenever I saw an officer of the law I tipped my hat, since I was only doing the speed limit and had nothing to worry about.

Parked my car at work (nose to nose with a decent looking black Honda S2000), let her cool down for a bit, and that was that!

One can only hope that the ride home will be as uneventful!

The car is running pretty darn good, as usual. Drove two miles to work today with no problems. Parked in my covered carport so it doesn't see any sun while at work. I think I'll hit an on ramp or two at lunch time just for fun :)

My little daughter (8 months) and I start her up when I'm leaving for work.

Wish I could say that my FD is running great but I cant either. Since the last time she ran was just after Thanksgiving. So yes, 13brew thanks for giving me a blown o-ring. Hope to have her back on the road here real soon, maybe Sept. with a new power plant (LS1 and the T56). I am more than sure she will run better than great and not give me the priceless filling of wondering when she will break down again. I will keep you posted.

Mine's perfect!!!!

Been using it as a daily driver, always starts, purrs smoothly and runs normal temps. I cruise at between 1500-2300 rpm for the last mile or so before I reach my destination then let it idle for a minute before I shut her off. I'm so obsessed with this car!!!

Mine has been running great in the Phoenix heat. Even with the A/C on in the middle of the afternoon my temps havent been getting over about 95C. I do have rear bushings to replace in the next few days here, but that is more of just an annoyance.

Now how many of us are going to get bit in the ass by fate tonight and blow an engine on the way home? :)

Got up this morning, fired up the FD and let it warm up for a few minutes while I finished getting ready for work. It was nice and cool this morning here in the Detroit area, so on the way in I noticed my intake temps staying nice and low (High 30's on the PFC Commander). Uneventful drive, got into the parking lot and parked with the back facing the sun (trying to get rid of some condensation in my taillight from the last carwash I gave her). Let her idle for about 2-3 minutes, shut her down and let the fan come on and run for a few minutes to head off some heatsoak, locked her up and went up to my cubicle!

And I can't WAIT for the drive home. Always fun to drive a dead sexy (and fast) car home for the Friday rush hour, and a great way to start the weekend!

Same here... I drive mine into work only when precipitation chances are below 20%. Only saw rain twice in the last 7 years. No snow... always waxed :)

Anyhow, started her up this morning and drove to work... god I love that engine sound. Warmed her up for a bit, about 3 minutes. Drove 13 miles to work. Ambient temp was 52 deg... perfect... the turbos were pulling hard. Love the on ramps... zinging on the highway and around town. No tickets thank god. Passed a lot of folks :) Got into work, parked in my usual back spot... and got compliments from fellow employees. (Don't you guys just love that when folks give compliments to our 7's???)...

Thanks for starting the thread... yes, she's running perfect and I can't wait to drive her in about an hour to go home, and run a few errands...

Damn! You guys are making me want to leave work early and take the LOOOOONG way home! I just love my car... getting that car was one of the best decisions I've made. What other car can give you such a rush and thrill and satisfaction driving it??? I mean... I'm looking forward to driving! Okay, maybe a Porsche, but you can't beat the performance (and looks) for the bargain. I'm glad to be in a forum where I'm not the only person just nuts about my car :) Keep it up!

Mines been awesome this year. Only problem was my manual boost controller went bad. Of course, I've only put on like 1000 miles so I haven't given it much room to act up :)

In my 2 years of daily driving, mines only not been driven for about 10 days total... and most of that was putting in mods :).

gonna fire mine up today and drive to work at 5... car never gives me problems.. needs another a/c recharge tho... prolly leaky evaporator.. :(

Started up with the usual puff of blue, let it idle in the garage until it stopped being lumpy. Pulled out, got the usual axle hop from hell (some bushing back there is NOT happy) just pulling gently away. Once the car is warm, no hop. Anyway, drove nicely, DIDN'T race the punk in a turbo convertable LeBaron (WTF!!?) playing rap and revving me (temp still below 180F). Got stopped at damn near every stoplight, finally got tired of the rising temp gauge, turned on the fans. Nice. Jumped on the freeway for a bit, got right back off (keepin' under 75, of all things. Traffic!), turned into work, let it cool for a couple minutes with the fans on, shut it off.

Typical run.

Went to Eastern WA Friday before last. 480 miles round trip. 22.6 mpg average, WITH A/C on most of the way. Only a little buzzy in the head from the vibration by the time got home. Good deal, running well, other than axle hop, temp issues (leaky hose, gonna replace them all again soon), rattley shifter, poor ass reception on the Bose...

In other words, about as well as can be expected :)

Not running great, blown coolant seal makes things less fun, but I do have parts on the way and a motor rebuild scheduled. At least the turbos boost and the vaccuum hoses are healthy. Josh

Well, Mr. Party Pooper, allow me to say this:

Give me about $1000 worth of rebuild parts and 48 hours, and I can have your FD back up and running for you. This assumes that you didn't overheat it badly and warp a rotor housing.

Something tells me that the mighty V8 conversion will cost just a bit more time and money. I never intend to find out. Best of luck to you :)

Engine/turbo wise... My car is just fine... Waiting for a caliper rebuild kit to rebuild the front brakes (so I can actually stop).. ;)

OK, I'll temp fate.

I'm currently in FD3S heaven also. The car's running great, with just a little bit of blue smoke at startup and no boost problems.

If I'm still in FD3S heaven in Sept, I'm going to Sevenstock #7 via H-101 (Southbound...down the coast) and I-5 (Northbound...to see Crater Lake) with my G/F. Approximately 2600 mi. roundtrip!!!

Yes.. Stopping is a good thing... lol

As for me my car isn't running right now either, but it's my own fault.. Bought the car needing repairs(body and engine), and just about done just haven't finished up. Finding time is a b*tch and I've found for the most part take whatever you figure costs to be and double it. Well enough rambling..

car runs so good and blows cold air i dont drive it anymore. she is an official garage queen this summer.

Starts right up, runs perfect, I love the non-sequential.

Except one small oil leak. (forgot to put on the oil drain line to block gasket) I plan on fixing that next time I change the oil.
