UIM Sensor Thing...

Ok, quick one, on the UIM there are 3 plugs that need to go to, one is directly underneath, one is next to it closer to the firewall and the other is a little more towards the TB, that one near the TB has a kind of cylinder looking mechanism that is plugs into, anyone know what that does?
I know on the 1990 UIM that would have coolant running through it but this one does not...
Thanks for any help guys...

I think you are describing the AWS (accelerated warmup system) actuator, but your post is pretty fuzzy. It is close to the TB underneath the UIM, and is held on by two studs/nuts. Many folks eliminate this with a block off plate and plug the nipple on the intake elbow.

Of course, we have no idea about why you are asking, so I guess I will stop there.

A Mazda manual would show that as part of the AWS (accelerated warm-up) or cold start systems. I might be little off in the name since I do not have my manual with me at this time.

The cylinder contains a "HOT WAX" rod that shrinks to open the throttle more when the engine coolant is below about 140F degrees, or close it when above 140F.

If you do not have a manual yet, get as you will need it with car!!!!!!
