Uh oh!... Ugly pics :-(

could be that or you aren't venting the "crank" case properly and you're getting blow by from too much built up pressure. I can't think of what it's called at the moment so I said "crank" case, but I just woke up.

when i first bought my FD, it only had 32k miles on it and ran perfectly, was bone stock. i changed the couplings out with silicone ones as about a week after i got it and they had a little "blow-by" oil in them. i really don't think its as bad as you think it is, unless there is a small swimming pool in your IC that you're not showing us.

You can prevent some of this by getting an oil catch can, no?
I've had my intake for about 4,000 miles, and they are somewhat saturated with oil... not completely pitch black, but definitely wet... think an oil catch can will alleviate the problem?

but yes, a catch can would limit the amount getting through the whole system

that's great! This is my first turbo powered car and I thought it was something related with a big turbo problem. My previous Civic type-R's intake was always clean, of course...

could be related to case breathing... same problem mike b was having... at first we thought he blew his turbo seals... then found out he capped off his case breather and the oil pressure caused blow-by and oily smoke.

while you have it open spray some carb cleaner in the I/C to clean up the oil inside. this is normal to have some oil fog in the pipes and I/C. the turbos (oil & water cooled) spin so fast that sone oil will mist threw the system. let me know if you want a nice set of RE I/C hard pipes for the stock I/C in mint condition coated in 2000 degree grey ice coating i am going to be selling them soon. they will look nice with your system.

how did you figure that you have oil in your intake? did you take them out to see?

From the pics, I though the problem was that you found a wadded up paper towel in your IC piping.
Oil in the track in normal to an extent. The extent of any "problem" is down to the extent of oil. If your car isn't smoking excessively, I wouldn't worry about it now.

No, my car is not smoking excessively. In fact it doesn't smoke at all, only in cold startup in winter days. So I'll change my IC and I'll take a look after riding some kms...
