well this is great! I have a 99 motor. with alot of other goodies as well. Im real close to buying a t-60. after reading this, i think that utilizing the twins is probably a better bet for me. Im not looking for 139554.55 H.P. im looking more for something i can drive to work every day, like 320-340. of course i will have, a lot of mods done. i will probably end up spending around 15k on my build up. but with the occasional, im in a hurry, or wanna race, or friday night track runs, or scare the **** out of my friends runs, my rx7 is going to be my pride and joy, reliable as ****, fast enough, car. you guys seem like you know what works for FD's. however i like to think i do, and if im ever wrong, let me know. ask me anything about a honda though and then you've got another story. so ill be posting a list in the future of what im gonna be using with some pics, fill me in on your expertise, dont flame. ill prolly be done with the car mid august. so so far stock 99 twins. great!

Rich at Gotham Racing made 376 rwhp with the old bnr stage 3's and he is selling his I believe so give him a call and that is a very respectable number if you ask me. It will outrun gt2's on the highway and z06 corvettes. They are well worth and that is the way im going to go. The stock twins are much more reliable than a big single in my opinion. But if you have a computer it is all virtually reliable because you can control things alot better. Go with the bnr's they put out good numbers.

Sparkey..thanx for that. That's pretty much what I'm looking for.

Any takers on my earlier question about the manifold/compressor housings?

Peak rwhp is one data point. What you're interested in is the area under the curve. I made 368 at 15 psi on stock twins, and 376 at 15 psi on the BNRs, although I run 17 psi on the street. Guess what? HUGE difference. Much wider powerband, like night and day from the stockers. Pulls like a freight train from 35-3800 up to 8200. Anyone who drove or rode in my 7 were floored by the before and after experience. When we were tuning Steve Kan commented that my car felt at least as strong as his drag car on pump gas, and that it felt like I should trap 124 mph. Next day, Stephen White (SPOautos) traps 125.

Plus, let's talk pump gas. Personally, I want a street car. One without a/c and p/s and set up for road racing, but a street car nonetheless. I do not care much for race gas.

I've driven very many single turbo FDs. My good friend Mr. Ihor Huk ran a GT35/40 until recently (430 on pump and 470 on race) and we agree that our cars were about even through 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. 4th gear he would have walked me.

Oh, and I didnt climb on this soapbox to help sell my stage 3s. I know they will sell because there are those out there that want to graduate from whooping C5s to whooping 996TTs. I am selling them b/c I have faith in Bryan at BNR and am going to run his new Stage 3s.

This is aimed specifically at you, widebody. Just wanted to share some facts since my name came up

Totally different from the old stage 3s. New compressor assembly, new and thicker shaft (hehe), new turbine wheel. I would wait and see what happens, leave the guinea pigging to nuts like me and artguy . In the meantime I recommend a set of stage 2s (with both compressor wheels upgraded) run stock sequentially for your application.
