Exclamation Turn signal stuck on

quick story. i rmoved my interior to change out the carpet which includes the dash and gauges and a/c panel and the whole bit. when i put it all back together the right turn signal is stuck on.

i wonder if i damaged the assembly at all when i removed the dash or cluster. the reason i say this is because the turn signal indicator feels very difficult to engage to the left turn signal. the left turn signal does not turn on even when engaged and the right is on reguardless.

i looked at all fuses including tns and it does indeed click when the lights are turned on to the first section. i also looked into shorts or cut wires and i cant find a thing. i cant find out what it is and its driving me crazy! i want to driive my car...

i searched and couldn't find what i was looking for. tia

The flasher relay is on the driver's side behind the kick panel. You might have disturbed it or unplugged something. Its the large black box.

Off topic but you didnt have to remove the dash to install the carpet.

I did my tan to black conversion without removing my dash.

idk. my wheel isi kind of ghetto because i have a theft recovery. but theres a spring and a switch. know how when you turn your signal on and turn? and once your wheel comes back straight it flicks off? its possible that switch could not be catching. shouldnt be hard to look.

The dash does have to come out or at least be lifted up to remove the carpet without damaging it. The carpet goes around the middle of the dash behind where the climate controls and radio is. Further, Mazda used some sort of adhesive to hold it. I have changed about 5 of them an unless you cut the carpet, I always pull the dash.

Idk, my carpet came already "pre-cut" like someone did the work for me.

Another reason why it worked out well for me, because i didnt want to encounter problems like in this thread lol

i turned the wheel from lock to lock twice. it fixed the difficult engagement of the indicator switch but the right signal is still stuck on.??????

try unhooking the battery for 15 minutes (resetting the computer) check the wiring going to the light. a lot of times just the dirt and debris from the road can cause bad connections in the wiring plugs and stuff. might just be a short.

i have a circuit breaker on the car so its been off overnight. i'm gonna check the wiring on the flasher more closely. if thats good, i might swap out the flasher with a friend to check.

is it posible i tweaked something on the switch and not realized? it looks so simple it would be unlikely...

IMO the turn signal seems somewhat cheaply made. my wheel comes close to it and sometimes when I turn I bust my knuckles on it and it feels like its about to just snap off. is it actually clicking and displaying on your dash? or the light is just stuck flashing?
