turbos whinning but car not going any faster

when i first get in car in the morning it picks up fine everything is going good then after about 10 minutes it does not pick up the same i do not have a boost gauge but i do notice that on the oil pressure gauge if i stomp on it in the beggining its the oil pressure goes up to about 10 and when its acting funny the oil pressure is around 6 also i can hear the turbo just whining but the car is not going any faster. a freind of mine said something about the actuator arm of the waste gate but i do not know to much about these cars where that is on car please help

Get a boost gauge.
Do a boost test and check your boost pattern.

Yes, it is. It sounds like you have a boost leak. I've got a big boost leak myself. I'm only hitting 5-7 psi, when i'm supposed to be hitting 12. My problem is the plastic y-pipe connecter "thing." I'm waiting for my ups package for a efini y-pipe. It was supposed to be delivered 2 days ago.

my friend has had the exact symptoms with his silvia (dropped in sr20). turned out to be a SMALL boost leak. Even the smallest of boost leaks can lead to big problems. def check out the y pipe connector, common spot for boost leaks.
