Turbos- Sequential or Non-Sequential?

Turbos- Sequential or Non-Sequential?
Can somebody please tell me the pros and cons of having a sequential or non-sequential setup for the 3rd gen. Also, is is difficult to go from sequential to non-sequential setup? Thankx

To avoid being flamed (this isn't a flame) exhaust the search function before you post...it's hard when you know you can post, sit back and wait for answers to roll in though....BUT that's not going to happen on this subject.

I was new once also - even before these debates even started. Quick pros and cons:
Sequential - full boost by 2500-2800 rpms, nice power in 5th gear, don't always have to downshift, can be decently reliable with a silicone vacuum hose replacement, will be more prone to boost leaks and issues with the "rat's nest"
Non-seq: Full boost by 3500-4000 rpms (in 4th and 5th gears), have to downshift if you don't want to wait for power, 5th gear is worse than a Hyundai, very predictable and reliable boost pattern, boost comes on linear rather than suddenly like seq, cleans up the engine bay and you can ditch the rat's nest, better for high boost runs (15 psi+), turbos will last a little longer, there's a "quicky" version that allows you to feel non-seq - if you don't like it you can always change back.
I've been both seq and non-seq and like sequential much better - just my preferance. Most will tell you to go non-seq - I'd agree but only if your seq. setup isn't working properly.

like kwik said, most guys go non-seq as an easy way out of having boost problems. i was having some issues w/ my boost pattern and i did the poor man's way of non-seq on rikki's site to see if i liked it. didn't take long and i was glad i went this way. non-seq does offer a linear power band, but there is a little lag. plus your car will become louder, and this is what really bothered me. car was too loud for daily driving and conv.
i went back to seq, i liked having the power right away and eventually fixed my boost problem w/ a vac hose job. like i said, you can always take a day to try the non-seq mod to see if you like it.
