Turbo timers

Another seemingly easy question asked by a new Rx7 owner,

The Turbo timer, I looked around for a detailed description of what it does and must just surmise the unit keeps the engine running after you switch it off and exit. I would assume the temp and time settings are adjustable and it seem simple enough to install since I have been a drivability specialist for 20 years and engine electrical, fuel injection computer control is my thing. I being a General Motors guy haven’t see many turbo since the Grand National, Corvette Callaway twin, and they didn't have timers installed by the factory. I think it’s a cool way to go. I would assume the engine computer has to be informed in some way along with various sub-systems to make it work with the total system. I would expect add on alarm systems may not like this unit but surely can be set up to except the unit.
