Smile turbo timers

Okay I tried posting my thread in the info forums but no luck. I have to questions:

1. I know how a turbo timer works (keeps car running after you shut it off until turbos cool) but are there any other functions a turbo timer performs? If not is it still worth buying? Note: I don't always feel like letting my car cool before I shut it off. Don't worry though I always let it cool.

2. My antenna doesn't go up and down anymore I can still hear the motor running but the antenna doesn't move. I tried lubeing the antenna but all I did was make a mess. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Or at least tell me how to get to the motor so maybe I can see what's wrong. Thank you for your time.

The turbo timer is one function but their are dual function units that include the turbo timer. My personal favorite dual is the Defi Boost & timer (Click "here" for link) . Otherwise, you should get one (like Apexi or Blitz)that automatically senses how long the car needs to cool down (auto timer).

As for the antenna, someone MacGyver'd some auto part store antenna parts and fixed his (try an antenna search). Otherwise, junk yard or a new replacement.

Whoops sorry: Is it worth buying? Well for FD owners most likely not unless you let your g/f or wife drive it "lol". Most cooling down will be done before you park be driving slowly on the streets before reaching your destination.

If you stomp on the throttle all the way home, even in the driveway and are too impatient to wait 30-90 seconds then "yes" you need one.

Although, since the alarm will not turn on before the engine shuts down and if you are paranoid like me, then you will wait out the cool down and your wrist watch will serve the same function.

Blitz and hks would be my first chioce. I never thought about the alarm though. :0 I hate the crappy stock alarm I have on it now. Soon as I get a few hundred bucks I'm springing for a new griffin alarm( same one my bro has on his teg) As for the antenna I guess I'll have to live with it being up all the time. Oh well.
