Turbo Timer Install Issues
Sup.. has anyone installed a blitz dtt dc 2 or 4 into there rx? I've tried both and cant get either of them to work properly.. I can only get the turbo timer to work if i flick the key real quick from 'ON' to off .. if i stop at accessories it dies.. so after some more playing i've totally facked it now.. Does anyone know which wires to use, from the 6 pins (with 6 wires) that are affiliated with the ignition barrel? Or can anyone point out some thing i dunno? cheers shaun

not sure if it applies to the blitz, but my hks has a wire that connects to the handbrake, and a wire that connects to the pcm. if these wires arent connected, the timer will shut off because it thinks the car is moving. check the wiring diagram that came with your tt to see if it has the same wires.

Most all the TT's I've run across work really well with the car specific wiring harness. While the car harness may be different from model to model the TT uses the same wirring colors on all of them. I've had three different ones and they all have plugged in to the same harness, depending on the model there may be extra wires specific to that model, mine had o2 sensor, rpm and a few others. I personally wouldn't want to cut into my ignition harness.

To each his own. With everone knocking them I picked up a very nice one for next to nothing and paid less than I would have for the voltage meter I wanted. I'm sure you can't see a need for a votage meter, not that the electrical systems on these cars is important. Kind of like keyless entry and remote start, ....has to be a personal choice.

sup.. yeah i'm definately down with turbo timers.. i live in Australia and its pretty hot and dry here so anything to help the motor/turbo's to cool down is an advantage.. As for the wiring harness i tried to get hold of one but was denied.. as my car is an 2002 model, the harnesses i found only went to 1998 model with the exception of one who said they fitted up until 2000 models, but no one could guarantee me that it would fit my car so i decided to go with the 'hack' job.. cheers

I've owned a mx6 turbo 1990 model.. put a cheap turbo timer on it.. drove it for 270k kms and never had a drama with it.. the mx had alarms, immobilizers, central locking, heaps of other boost controllers etc .. mostly all with remote sensors.. none of which was effected by the turbo timer..
Then i bought a skyline 1993 gtst.. again whacked a cheap turbo timer on it.. drove it to 270k kms.. never had a problem with the electronics.. All similar stuff to the mx6 was attached also.. alarms etc..
Now i'm my rx7.. nothin but dramas.. with the turbo timer.. everything else is sweet.. though the one thing i didnt install myself was the immobilizer.. mongoose 40 series.. i've got the 80 series sitting here ready to go in, but havent got round to swapping them yet.. anyone know if this could be causing dramas?

I like the TT because its a really good multitasker. I have it for its intended use if I need it, but I also have a voltmeter, a fan controller (of sorts), a digital rpm&speed display, 0-60 timer, etc. etc. for 80 bucks, I think it cant be beat.

Try swapping the blue and the green wires. When I wired up my GReddy turbo timer according to the wiring, it didn't work right because these were backwards. I swapped them (12v ignition, and accessory wire) and it works perfect now.
