Turbo timer and alarm question...

I'm installing a HKS turbo timer in a friend's 93 RX-7 and can't arm the alarm while the engine is in timer mode. My friend is running a Viper alarm, and it automatically opens the locks when the timer shuts the car off. Is there anyway that I can get the alarm to arm while the timer is counting down? ANy really quick fixes are really appreciated... TIA.

i have the same problem with my alarm. i just got a range extender antenna so i can arm it from the end of the parking lot when the car shuts off. its one of the things weve got to trade for having the highest horse per liter car out there.

That's a good temp fix, but my 93 has a Clifford alarm in it that can be armed while the timer is counting down AND it arms the Mazda alarm once the car actually shuts down. I didn't install my alarm or turbo timer and the wiring under my dash is impossible to follow... so I know that it can be done. Is there anybody out there that has actually done the install and has had it work similar to my car????

I posted about this topic a couple weeks ago when I was trying to get my turbo timer and alarm to work together. Another forum member by the name of "Spyfish007" made a detailed post about how to wire up a relay that'll let the two work together. I can't remember which thread it was under but I know it's out there cuz right now my alarm is all wired up and working with the timer.

Crap! All this discussion is making me wonder whether I should get a turbo timer or not!
