Turbo to intercooler coupler
Can anyone direct me to a coupler that fits around the stock pipes from the turbo to the intercooler? My current stock one is leaking and I don't think they have any at autozone, haha.

ATPturbo.com has a ton of silicone couplers for a fair price. They also have hump hoses that have the "hump" to allow for engine movement.

The efini y is what... $200, i've spent damn near $130 on hoses to fix the stock rubber crap when they blow. After i finally get block off plates an efini y is the next thing on my list. I've gotten my couplers from a local store that sells re-branded vibrant pieces.

$240.00 from rx7store.net, and close to the top of my list of things that will be replaced during my rebuild.

+1 on atpturbo.com good price, quality, and quick shipping
All the y pipe eliminates is ONE coupler. $6 sounds alot better than $200 plus to me... and the silicone coupler will never fail.

The Y Pipe also replaces a plastic boost pipe with a metal one. I bought a 93 R1 with a blown plastic boost pipe for a steal because the car ran terribly. I turned it and made some good money while I was in college.

Non-reinforced Silicone couplers will not work even at stock boost. These are your $6 couplers.
That was one almost WOT at 10-12 psi. The pop scared the poo-poo out of me.
This is what i'm using, i'm quite happy with them despite the cost.

Constant threat
It is hard to find an auto parts store that has what you need. I (as many others have also) use the ones from hightempsilicone.com or hosetechniques.com. I bought two feet of the coupler hose and have used about 4 inches in 7 years. The stuff is THAT good.

The only thing I don't like about ATP turbo is their inflated shipping costs.
I've also had a customer who bought a turbo from them that ended up being seized right out the box, ruining the turbo and the motor......

All i'm saying is that if you have an interest in performance you should eliminate the stock plastic & rubber crap.

Silicone isnt a reinforcement.
Silicone couplers are reinforced with the following:Polyester, Aramid/Nomex, Fiberglass.
I am surprised that many people on this forum don't know that much about Hoses.
Let me educate you a little bit.
You cannot tell the quality of a hose by looking at it. The thicker it is, the it probably is. You need to know the material of what it is constructed out of. The reinforcement material keeps the hose from expanding under pressure.
Polyester is cheap. . you will see probably 4- 5 ply stitching in the hose for reinforcement. These are stitched like a horizontal weave. = = = = = =
Aramid/Nomex is better, but still cheap. Probably 3 - 4 ply stitching also horizontal weave.
Fiberglass reinforcement is the strongest. Mainly 2- ply or 3/4 ply for overkill. These are cross weaved. X X X X
I used to work at a place called Turbohoses.com.
We supplied the United States Military for their vehicles. Also Ryan Moon's 10 second Supra. Hennessy Twin Turbo Dodge Vipers, Ligenfeilter twin Turbo corvettes and someone you might remember, M2 - Intercoolers (4ply reinforced fiberglass). and also HKS.
GReddy hoses are the weakest. They are pure crap with no reinforcement.
Becareful of what you buy. You get what you pay for.
And to answer your question, it's 2.75" id.

Whoa there killer, i said reinforced silicone, i never indicated silicone reinforcement.
Whoa, flame bait.
The hoses at high-temp silicone are aramid, like you're suggesting.
Vibrant is 4ply i'm not sure about atpturbo.
He's not going to blow any of those at stock boost levels.
Thanks for the information, next time mayhaps you could be a little less of a ***** about it.
