Tunning my FD
Hey guys, I'm getting my auto fd tuned by steve kan in LA. And was wondering what should I ask for? Does Steve Kan do everything himself or do I have to talk technical with him because I am not much of a technical person. I just want my car to be a safe, reliable daily driver with the most power possible. I don't want to sound lame or like a newb but I would also would like to have flames. I will be installing a midpipe to get a full straight pipe before the tune. Am I suppose to ask to keep it on the rich side? Or is steve that great that I should just keep my mouth shut?

I'm sure that Steve has dealt with hundreds of RX-7 owners, including people who don't know the first thing about tuning. If you want your car to be reliable, ask him for that. Better yet, I would recommend telling him your plans for how you're going to use the car.
By the way, I'd really recommend making sure that everything is in tip-top shape before putting the car on a dyno, or doing on-the-road tuning if that's what he prefers. It would be wise to make sure that your cooling system can handle the heat generated by a lot of hard driving. When was the coolant last changed? How old are the spark plugs? Fuel filter? Air filter? A tuning session would be the worst time for something simple to fail, and Murphy's Law says that if there's something that you've neglected, it will fail on the dyno.

Just email Steve at Gotham Racing. He should have all of your mods and how you want the car tuned (reliable, aggressive) before the tuning session.
I strongly recommend you install the midpipe and make sure you have no boost control issues before the tuning session.

sent you a PM about the tuning day . let me know. It would be nice to have Steve tune Two autos on the same day. my mods are in my sig. I'll be using a EFI Purple box with pink 9 software . I am not looking for high HP just a good safe tune to support my mods.
