Trying to install oil pressure gauge
Trying to install oil pressure gauge
I got an aftermarket oil pressure gauge (Greddy), and I need to know ho to install it, tough to do with directions in Japanese
Anyway, I don't care if I can disconnect the stock one, I heard you can just disconnect it and take the new unit and replace it. Question is where is the old unit? I already have the gauge wired and ready to go, just need to plug in the sensor.

I don't know! So can you just screw it out? Will the new one just screw back in?
Greddy oil filter block adapter is all ya need.

I don't know what the thread specifications are on your new sender. There is an unused knock sensor location just above the trailing (lower) rear spark plug that you can use for a test fit without removing the stock sender. It has the same size and thread pitch as the oil pressure sender.
I believe that the oil pressure sender hole in the block is 1/8" BSPT (British Standard Pipe Tapered). You may have to buy a BSPT to NPT adapter (aftermarket senders are usually NPT).

the greddy oil pressure sending unit will just screw right in. at least mine did a few years ago. the stock sending unit is the big *** sesnor screwed into the rear drivers side of the engine. right under the oil filter. it is only for the stock gague. dont go crazy with tightening it as it is tapered. just tight enough so it wont leak

My guess is that the Greddy sender is 1/8" NPT and that you should buy an NPT to BSPT adapter to make sure it fits properly. Your local NAPA/Autozone etc. should have one of these for $10 or so.

I replaced the stock sensor and it works fine with no leaks. I have a different gauge, but I believe the threads on my sensor are 1/8 NPT. The stock setup has a metal extender/adapter thing screwed into the housing/block, and then the stock sensor screws into the adapter. I kept the adapter screwed into the housing/block and screwed my aftermarket sensor into the adapter. Works great; no leaks, and no additional difficulty replacing the oil filter.

I don't know, but I can tell you that my 1/8 NPT sensor threads right into the adapter thingy. 1/8 NPT and BSPT are so close that it might just work anyway, even though they really aren't the same threads.
How could you miss the adapter? It isn't small and is clearly a separate piece from the stock sensor.
