troubleshoot blown engine?

Hy everyone, I am going to be starting my new engine soon 13rew, the last time it was started it ran for about 15min and blew the front rotor leaveing the rear without a scratch. e6k, single turbo, ls1 coils, 550 1600, The orginal rx7 coil wires were left on the coils and they were very lose. I think the front rotor misfired ? Iv cleaned the injectors and will make new wires this time when I do it myself. Is there anything else I shoulld do?

Thanks to all

Crank it over to build oil pressure before starting. Make sure your fluids are topped up, you've got a strong battery and a good tank of gas.

It is very difficult to blow a motor at idle and even under vacuum. Sounds like something was physically put together wrong. I am betting you had another problem. What was the extend ot the damage?

'You're doing it wrong.'

Consider having the work done by a professional who knows rotary engines.....

IMO, junk the E6k, junk the LS1 coils, junk the random spark plug wires<----these did not blow your engine btw, sounds like a bad build.

Power FC, stock coils, stock NGK plug wires. These things are proven components that *work* and allow the car to run on the racetrack at 500+ rwhp. Blowing an engine at idle is a joke.

+1

the E6K actually COULD have blown the engine that fast... controlling timing isn't something the haltech does very well.

I did a less-than-great job my first rebuild but nothing was damaged since I did not run boost. I was only inconvenienced by having to take it apart again.

It was either the Haltech having noise issues or something was wrong with the motor.

FYI, you can technically beat on a motor immediately but its better to go through the whole breakin process. Never seen a race car with a brand new motor go out during qualifying and thats his breakin? Or a drag motor done pass with zero miles on it? Anyway, just mentioning that cause not going through the breakin will not blow your motor.
