sometimes it can be stubborn. make sure you have ALL the bellhousing bolts out (i notice you didnt say anything about the starter...)

try a prybar...anything to put some pressure on the thing.

Hell yah its a pain in the *** the first time!!!

Make sure that all 5 of the bolts that hold the tranny to the motor. ( i know the top ones are bitchs)

I imagine the starter is out if he removed the the slave cyl.

When i had mine all apart it didn't seem like it wanted to move used a pry bar all of a sudden it broke free that was a scary moment.

Anyways you have to push in on the wedge collar and push back on the Throw Out bearing its a bitch i couldn't get mine so i had to remove all of the pressure plate bolts which isn't as hard as you think losen a bolt move the flywheel losen and move its easy. MAKE SURE YOU SEPERATE THEM!!!!!

the clutch collar should be easy to dissengage with the slave removed.

Just push it towards the clutch with a long screwdriver.

I felt that way until I tried an 18" extension with a pivoting head 14mm socket. Then it's easy as cake.

If it turns out to be the release collar that you were pulling on, go ahead and order a new ring and collar - I'll bet they were damaged.

yes the pressure plate is still holding the trans in. you can destroy the wedge collar and ring and pry it off the thorw out bearing ( I dont like doing this those two little parts cost $70), or you can take the six pressure plate bolts out and take the tranny and clutch assemblie out as a whole ( I would do this).

PS when you have the trans out make sure you replace the throw out bearing, pilot bearing and seal. I am sure after doing this once you wont want to do it again for some time. Personal I love doing R&R's on these trannies, its really easy, well easier then most.

We've done 2 and both we opted to remove the pressure plate after screwing with the throwout for 20 minutes and not wanting to destroy it., all you have to do is spin the motor around and remove each PP bolt as you go.
