Tranny Oil Change - Question on FSM

Been reading up the FSM on the how-to for my upcoming transmission oil change.

It says to apply sealant to the threads of the drain plugs before reinstalling them, and to install a new filler plug after filling her up.

Do you guys follow this to the letter or do you just simply remove and replace the existing plugs with minimal fuss?

You might try putting a wrap or two of teflon pipe sealing tape on the bottom drain plug. Otherwise dont' worry about it.

Yep, that's what I did. It has been holding fine. You don't really need to replace the filler plug, just clean it up and put it back in.
