Tranny noise

Just recently noticed the sound lately, It's loudest when you just start up the car, sound is like a whoosing noise, and after warmed up, it seems to go away for the most part. No problems with shifting, just noticeable noise when cold. Sounds like it's in the shifter, but can be heard outside(underneath) car also.
What type of gear oil is suppose to go in the shifter, i forgot what i used.

I don't believe I'd use the word 'whoosh' for bearing noise, but everything else you say suggests bearing noise. Noisy bearings usually sound like a whirring or spinning noise, sometimes with a little bit of chuga-chuga going on too, and usually get quieter when the tranny is warm and the oil is fully circulated.

Use a 75w-90 GL4 or GL5 oil.
