tranny fluid change question

Is it possible to pull the shift boot and the shifter out and fill the fluid from the top of the tranny? I know some cars (like my nissan) would allow you to do it that way.

*basically you still open the fill plug on the side so you know when to stop*

You *could* pull the shifter panel/boot, then run a tube from inside the car down to the tranny filler hole.

However! I wouldn't dare put tranny oil inside of my car if I don't have to... If you spill any of it, it smells for months.

You can run a hose from the tranny filler hole up into the engine bay, attach it to a funnel and start filling away. At least that way you aren't stuck under the car trying to use one of those crappy AutoZone hand pumps.

I would run the line down from the engine bay to the fill hole. That way it's a straight downhill shot, and no worries of getting the oil in the wrong place.
