Question Tranney swap

I was wandering if anyone has swapped out the orig automatic with a different automatic? Is there any other auto trannies that have the same bolt pattern as in bellhousing to block or the stock bellhousing to a different tranny say like a ford C4, Chevy T350 or 400 a Chry 727 anything that can hold a massive amount of HP. I took a Jeep T5 and mated it to a Ford 5.0 but the jeep T5 was real close to the world class T5. My FD has the auto in it and I dont want to switch to the 5 spd. I have done alot of 1/4 drag and find the auto to be alot more consistant. Rotories are new to me and I have been digging it real hard. I am not afriad to venture where no man has gone before ether. It just seams the FD auto tranny is the weak point so something has to change. Is there anywhere I can get the bolt pattern for the 13B and the tranny bolt pattern so I can research other trannies to? Or dose someone make a adapter?

Thanks, any input would be great......

Like I posted earlier I dont want to swap to the 5 spd. They are nothing but room for error (missed shifts slipped clutches and bad launches). Please read the thread before responding. If it is to tech. for you move on to the next thread please. Thank you.

Not trying to be a smart *** but l am looking for info not a debate about auto vs manual. Thanks.......

You might send a PM to "weaklink". I remember seeing a post about him looking into a stronger auto tranny.

Squasher...you better get used to all the people on the forums like that. I have only been here a week and I already want to leave b/c of people acting like kooks. You ask a specific question and they want to get in a argument over something that wasn't in your post.

Just some info, If you swap to another auto, make sure it's the same size or smaller. B/c when i swapped my auto for the 5sp, i could barely get it out b/c it was so snug under there. No too much extra room. But no , I didn't hear of anybody doing that.
