I already do, one of my stone covered hoosiers scratched the door handle a little bit. But it was a good way to get stuff to the track before I was sure I wanted to spend money on a trailer...

I've done the tires in the car thing, in fact 2 stock wheels will fit in the passenger seat side by side, plus two in the trunk. That leaves a little room behind the passenger seat and room in the footwell.

Yeah it's a mess and easy to damage the interior. I'm buying a set of tire wraps (tire rack sells them) before I do it again. http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/..._tire_tote.jsp

Which gets to my point: while the FD is not a car for towing anything substantial, it will tow a tiny tire trailer well, and you can get a hideaway hitch. For track days and autox's, it's the trick setup.

FWIW, I've got a U-Haul hitch taking up room in my garage. It was on the car when I bought it. I have no plans for it, but won't ship. I think I even still have all the bolts. Free to any forum member coming through the mid-west....MAM (Mid-America Motorplex) is 20 minutes away.

I have this hitch, and I plan to install it this month.

It took almost two weeks special order from U-haul to get it. I think they make them as ordered.

Btw, they are 19 lbs.

It really gets tough trying to squeeze 275's and 295's inside the car.

Ha, I just make a friend come with a small truck so he can haul all the tires and tools and the tail-gate works for a great bench/lunch table!
