If there is serious interest, I wouldn't have a problem running a GB on 'em, but I doubt that many ppl actually NEED them. They're essentially for track use or for anyone who will be flatbedding their FD repeatedly. And you only need one on one side. They're not tie-down points; just a point to pull the car up onto the flatbed with.

Guys, just to a Google for "universal racing tow hook". There are many places that sell them around the US. I know OBX makes one in a few colors.

Yea, which looks the same as all the others and only costs 3 times more.

Thanks guys,

A friend of mine has a Silver 94 R2 with what he 'claims' are FACTORY tow hooks. Do you know if Mazda shipped any cars with factory tow hooks or if one is available through MazdaComp?

Sorry to keep beating this topic! Thanks again!

The car does NOT come w/ tow hooks. It comes w/ TIE DOWN POINTS *ONLY*. I emphasize this b/c if you try using them as tow points, you risk destroying your bumper. If you must pull the car up onto a flatbed, make sure they place the hook on one of the holes in the center of the subframe. The downside to that is due to the upward angle the car will be pulled up at, if you have a lip, it can damage it. And if you have a very low bumper, it can unsettle it - or even damage/rip it off.
