toluene
I used it awhile ago with no ill effect cause I was getting boost spikes on a 93 with stock ecu, ic, and upgraded intake and dp, highflow mc, cb but it was kind of a pain. Its
what lots of companies use to increase octane but don't spill it on your car cuz it takes the paint off pretty quick. You can prolly find it cheapest at a big paint supply store. I was just mixing a half gallon per fill up and was not at all scientific about it. Anyway did it for about 6 months before I sold it and the car was running great.

very dangerous/volitile
not worth the chance, id just keep the boost down or buy bigger injectors/better ecu

Nothing like killing your friends and neighbors for a little extra boost.
Check the MSDS for this stuff. It is pretty nasty. Don't be caught in a garage with the engine running at all with this in your car.

I've done the research and I use it both in my car and as a thinner. And the guy who claimed to know all about toluene couldn't even spell it right. It's sold in most retail paint stores and it's in most octane boosters. Just not in sufficient quantity to do any good. You don't have to take my word on this. Check these sites out.

Yah ... Bill is right. I know who it was who flipped out about toluene, I guess because of all the heresay or something, but I set the record straight and it's really not that dangerous. I could go on about my credentials or something, but the people who read my post know that I knew what I was talking about. Just be smart about handling it and everything will be OK. There are more dangerous chemicals commonly used in your car now ... like gasoline (benzene content) and ethylene glycol (coolant). Handle it with regards to yourself and the environment as you do those and it's all happiness and Carolina blue skys.

I tried a 25% volume 50/50 Toluene and Xylene mixture added to super 94 last summer for almost a month.
No ill effects. "Felt" alright... quite Placebo-like. No measurements taken on any level. I would do it again for a track weekend.
