Totalled my FD :( pics of wreck and my new ride :)

Hey guys,
Sad to say I wrecked my RX7. It was very muddy out one day and all of a sudden I lost control going around 15 mph on our gravel road. I started sliding and my passenger side hit the railing of the bridge, and then the car fell down into the creek. Quite the ride. This all happened in May. Not too long later I bought my new car. Its a 2001 BMW 330ci. I bought it completely stock and so far I've done a few mods like 18 inch SSR GT3's, Eibach Pro Kit springs, clear lights, and had it tinted of course. These cars handle great. It handles just as good or better than my RX7 and its not as harsh of a ride. Definantly not as fast as the 7 though .

Bummer about the FD, I'm sure you were going 15mph. You busted off the concrete pillar! Well the tires do look bald as hell.

Damn that's one rare FD that will never see again.

Edit: That's a nice looking BMW.

If you don't mind me asking how much did insurance give you for your car?

yeah, it was rare I guess. Not much silver on red 94's I hear. The bimmer has red leather, so its going to be a driving memorial to the memory of the RX7 .

If I wasn't driving a 7, I'd be driving an M3 or a 330. Beautiful new ride man, sorry to hear about your 7.

Unhappy Man....

Jesus. What a waste of a perfectly good FD. I'm really glad that no one was hurt.

That said, how bald were your rear tires? They look pretty much like slicks in that pic, although it's a bit hard to tell. If they were bald, having some good all weather tires like S03's might have saved your car. I used to run my rears until they were bald, and was lucky to get away with it. I don't do that any more, that's for damn sure.

The 330 looks sharp, and I *love* those wheels. One thing I have to point out, though--try road racing or autocrossing your Bimmer, and you'll find out very quickly that it doesn't exactly handle like an FD .

Sorry about your FD. The bimmer looks awsome BTW . Yes keep an eye on you car so if you get a chance to part it out let us know. Is hard to find a silver FD that's going to part out. I just need the wing. Sorry about your luck. But if I was in your shoes I would have done the same thing after the FD, I'm going with a Bimmer. I love Bimmers. Good luck

Glad you're alright. If it was 15mph it was with the tires spinning like crazy while trying to drive sideways down the road. The car went across the road, struck the pillar with the passenger side and fell in the creek. So the car was on the wrong side of the road before it struck the bridge.

I already parted everything off that I wanted. If anyones interested in the Blitz, HKS, and my Autometer gauge pod and gauges let me know. I also have a RE Amemiya ECU for sale. Some people said I should of got a Beetle since they can float. If I had a Beetle though, I would deliberately drive into the creek.

I can't see the other side, but it doesn't look that bad at all. I've seen much worse brought back to excellent condition. Sorry to hear about you car though, but it seems you are fine.

Are you SURE you were going 15mph!? Honestly, it looks as if you were doing more, but oh well. Glad to see you have a new ride already.

Well, it doesn't look bad but every panel except the roof and hatch was bent or busted. I was hoping they would total it cause I didn't want to have to drive around a wrecked car that never felt like it used to. My sister wrecked my parents Jeep Liberty and it hasn't driven the same since. I was also in the process of selling it, too. Got rid of it sooner than I expected .

Well then, allow me say this.

It f*cking pisses me off that you wreck a gorgeous and rare 3rd Generation RX-7 through your own carelessness and negligence.

It really f*cking pisses me off when you go on to say things like "I was selling it anyway--I got rid of it sooner than I expected."

Your cavalier and flippant attitude about the whole incident makes me sick to my stomach. After checking your profile, I'm not surprised to see that you were born in 1984.
