You could BUT there is NO point, as the reason for using a torque brace is to prevent the (manual) Shifter from moving around and making quick shifts more difficult. The "shifter" on the auto is not mounted directly to the trans & so does not move around w/ engine torque like a manual shifter.

It puts more load on the motor mounts. If the engine cannot shake back and forth a little (like it does with the stock mounts) it will just push harder against the mounts that do move. Torque braces=death to motor mounts. Don't ask me why I have one.

I put one on my auto. I did notice a slight difference in throttle response. It also seemed to have an effect almost like a strut tower brace, helping to reduce chassis flex just a little bit.

I figured that with about 5 dollars in parts from HD racing (home depot), what could it hurt?

I dont agree that it puts more strain on Motor mounts.

I would say ANY companies actually acts like another motor mount EXCEPT for rigid (as long as a little play is given).

Having 3 motor mounts is kind of nice. I had a broken motor mount when I bought my car over 2 years ago. My first install from my buddies shop was a ETD. After that the engine didnt shake as much and acted like I had brand new mounts. Well later on after my overhaul, my mech and I looked and the mount that was originally broken looked actually in better condition then originally. It look like it took quite a bit of strain off the mounts actually, by preventing TOO much movement. Oh well to make the long story short.

Mine has been installed for 2 years of driving, and I would get another if it EVER breaks.

OH I missed the question:

1. Not as needed or useful as for a 5-speed
2. Might save motor mount damage
3. Clean nice look even for an auto, and brightens the engine bay a little.
4. wont change anything to do with driving though.
