Top Ten Reasons REW's fail. Cast your vote now!

I want to make a nice list of the top ten reasons 13B REWs fail. Everyone feel free to post a few reasons their REW has failed and maybe a short explaination. Keep the bs short though please! At the end of a few days ill count up everything and post the top 10 reasons up for everyone to see. I hope this will be helpfull to every member here, I hope that this list will help everyone build a better motor for the next go around. . .

well, my first one failed due to shot coolant seats which is a very common problem on REWs.

Top 10 reasons? Blown apex and coolant seals make up the majority of engine failures, no?

first motor died from pinging. pinging chipped rear apex seals, low compression on rear apex seal. pinging went away after new spark plug wires.

There aren't ten reasons why motors require a rebuild. In the vast majority of cases, a motor needs to be rebuilt because of failed coolant seals or because of blown/worn apex seals.

There is no bullet-proofing a rotary. Mod properly (not cheaply), keep up maintenance, use good fuel (and water injection for heavily modded cars), and pray to the rotary gods -- that's about all you can do.

Lean situations, and the roots that lead up to that. Whether it be poor tuning, overboosting, poor fuel, poor fuel system, etc. It's very rare that you hear of a "stock" or near-stock FD that blows an apex seal out of nowhere.

Walien, unless that stock FD had a stock radiator. :P

Mine went because of a poor fuel and poor fuel system(fuel filter)... also lets not forget the old saying:

First thing to check is the loose nut behind the wheel. :/
