150 somthing is mine... wasnt really in the mood to look down to long to find out. The car was rock solid at speed. The R1 wont be any faster then any other nonmodified FD from a power stand point. It might handle a bit differnet at speed from the front lip and stiffer springs. Nice to see another CYM owner...

About 150 mph is mine, hit this while racing a modded 240 SX on the highway (damn S13s). I have hit 140 many times, but never held it for longer than 10 seconds or so. Too worried about getting spotted by a cop like Cyberben3 there. The car felt pretty stable at those speeds but the steering feels pretty damn quick up there.

BTW, the R models (or any FD with the front lip and rear wing) have a slower top speed due to increased drag over a base car. The base/touring Cd is 0.29, the R models are 0.31. Several of the car mags got 158-159 as the top R-model speed and 162-165 for the base/tourings.

Also, R-models do NOT have stiffer springs than same year base/tourings, only stiffer shocks and bushings. R2 models also have larger rear anti-sway braces than 94-95 base/tourings/PEPs.

I've been up around 160 a few times; car had plenty more to give, but I ran out of space. MODS: Single turbo pushing 400 rwhp.

Just so everyone knows, I didn't get arrested, and the ticket was for 126, not 155. I have, however, had the car up to 167--on an incline. I'm sure it WILL go faster. --BN

Yes, sorry about the misinformation. I received word from another member and spread the good gospel about Ben and his extremely lucky *** to get to drive home from that affair. He was aslo racing a Viper at the time so go figure. Good Luck!

Try doin that on a bike tho. 175+ on 2 wheels is ten times more exciting than in a car, more stable too. Except there's less room for error. My old 2nd gen would only get her *** up to 115

More exciting? You mean more scary. I love speed, but I don't think I would be comfortable doing that on a bike. I've raced people on bikes that have been beside me up to 150. They're crazy. I give them credit.

~158mph
Bone stock on 78 west in PA
There was a huge accident and traffic was stopped dead, I was the fifth car from where police stopped traffic.
After a half hour they let us go and I knew there was three lanes of NOTHING for four miles.
Just let it rip!!
Did pass a tractor tralier pulling on at the next on ramp going easily 100mph faster then him and realized it was time to get out of it.
The car never moved it was steady as a rock at that speed.
What a Day!

I got up to 160 (at least that is what the speedo said) on my stock FD R2...in other words with spoilers...it was a cool night and I was on the autostrada...like the italian version of the autobahn except the speedlimit is 130km/h (I think like 80mph)...people usually go around 100mph as a minimum though...and there are never any cops, just cameras...but I havent even seen those either. Anyway, up to 140 the car is fine and you cant even tell you are going that fast...at 150 the wind starts to get loud as **** and at 160 it is like the same sound as a plane when it is about to take off....I was a complete retard for ever doing something like that and I will never do it again...but I just had too...I was wondering though, unless you have a different gear box even modded rx7s couldnt go any faster than whatever you are at at redline in 5th which is probably like 180. By the way, the person who got arrested for going 155 in a 55 deserves it...you are an idiot...I am an idiot too but at least I was on the highway at 3 in the morning...
