too much oil??

My car was leaking an immense amount of oil, so I checked the level and it was OVER more than a quart!! (don't ask ). Could any damage occur after driving it like this for a few days?? After draining the extra I guess I'll just keep an eye on things.

thanks,
Brett

no, it's completely ok...now you know though

the proper way to check oil level is to let the car reach full operating temperatures, shut it down and wait 5 minutes before checking the level.

did you notice any coming out of the exhaust?

immense tends to mean, to me, a front cover gasket, in that it sitting in one spot for 10 minutes and the puddle underneath the car is about a foot in diameter.
