Personally option 1 is the best...
Option 2 will give you slight understeer...

As Johnny said, Option 2 will have more understeer.

That's a no-brainer... you should run 245/45-16 all around.

From: Minnesota, now in FL and I dont think I'm goin back
OK i know theres a huge thread on this already ( best tire wheel size ) but im going to buy rims this week and I just want to know if I am making the right choice in sizes. So help me out if you know what your talking about.

Heres what im getting Advan Model 5 rims in gun mettalic with 18x9 in front 18x10 in back with a 45 offset, they dont offer 50 but its perty close. My big ? is I will be running this setup for atleast a month or two on stock suspension (not R1 ) Will I have lots of rubbing or should I be OK. Also with rims that wide I will be getting wide tires but I dont want them to stick out I was gonna go with 285 in back and I am not sure what to put up front yet. Also the tires will be 35 sidewall in front an 30 in the rear.

I would really appreciate the help, this is a big investment so I dont want to be dissapointed. And have **** going wrong. I know lots of you are rolling on 18's so help me out

Oh and if your feeling really helpful tell me what you think of the rims just go to ADVAN then MODEL 5

To maintain stock wheel/tire diameter for an 18-inch wheel with a 35 aspect ratio, the width should be 245. This is almost an exact match with 285/30 also.

You need to post your question in the suspension wheel tire forum, where Johnny Moderator BLING, Max Cooper, JoeD, Hedgehog, ARD T2, Chadwick, and I hang out.

Besides, if you read and understand all 134 posts on the best wheel/tire combo thread (it's rated 5 stars) you'll find the answer to your question.

The fact is, you're probably not willing to read all 134 posts. You just want someone to give you the answer.

You've got to meet us half way and do a little digging yourself.

The answer is in that huge thread.

Read it, understand it, and you might learn a thing or two about the relationship between wheels/tires, and clearance issues with an FD.

I read quite a few of them but some people contradict what others say. My main ? is will i get excessive rubbing on stock suspension.
