Hey guys, what would be the cause of a problem I'm having of me feeling and hearing a thunk turning full lock left but not full lock right? I'm thinking left tie rod? Or does my rack need rebuild.

Thanks

Does it do it while you brake too?
I remember having the same symptoms and it turned out to be the upper control arm.
Turns out the balljoint was messed up, pretty hard to tell unless you replace it though.

yes that is something that needs to be looked at . the upper control arm balljoint. did the exact noise you are saying on a car I knew. and one day on the expressway the balljoint separated and his fd was totaled.

Don't forget to eliminate dumb things like something binding up on the steering shaft. I has a similar thunk and pulled apart my front suspension several times, replaced one ball joint and a few other parts only to find a connector for my HKS ignition would wedge itself between the steering knuckle and the body of the car. It really felt like something was loose in the front end and made a lot more noise than I would have expected.
