When you guys are driving and u shift do you hear kind of a thump coming from the rear or is that my rear goin?

 

i think that might be your diff bushings.

 

Do they all do that because ive only been in one other FD besides mine and it did that to, lol it almost sounds normal. Is diff bushings a big deal?

 

I've never had a "thumping" noise when shifting.

You might also check to see if your jack components are tightened down. I've seen a few people who had those loose and hear some noise from the rear of the car, only to find that it was something simple.
