throttle cable brackets hookup where?

Hey guys my project is almost done. I have my throttle cable just hanging loose across the engine bay. I'm having a tough time figuring out where the 2 brackets on the cable get bolted to. I know where the end of it goes haha and where that last bracket thing goes right before the end of it but its the other 2 brackets I can't figure out. Does the cable run under the uim or all the way around it? Its been so long since I've had it hooked up so i just can't remember how it goes. Thanks

one is the last nut on the UIM . Rite next to where you would hook up a boost gauge or something at that nipple It should be apparent when putting it in position. The clip on the cable should lay on top of it

The other is the top nut on the firewall side of the TB Hope that helps. This is the Litle bracket.
the cable makes a u-turn around the UIM and then to the TB again.

Hey thanks...I suspected that last nut on the uim but didn't remember the cable going around on the outside of the uim. Thats what you're saying it does, correct? So it goes directly under the nipples on the side of the uim or directly over them? I'm thinking under.

Question close up pics of cable clip/UIM bracket?

^^ I know this post is OLD, but do you have any more close up pics of the brackets/cable attachments to the UIM? Reason I ask is because I have the brackets but not any sort of clip on my throttle cable that attaches to the brackets. I just looked at the parts fiche and noticed that the cable appears to come with what appears to be a pair of clips that are pressed into the holes in the brackets which are mounted on the UIM. See attached pic. Maybe I'll just go and buy something off the shelf and clip them on instead of zip ties this time

it's not a clip per se, but a little loop that the cable goes through with a bolt bracket, if this hasn't been updated I'll take a picture when I get home

When dealing w/something as important as a throttle cable, I'd recommend getting a new one. They're surprisingly cheap (for an FD part) at around $50 from Ray. The install takes ten minutes once you know how to do it

Every time I pop a hood and see the cable zip tied I cringe..... I'd say we replace them on three quarters of the cars that come in the shop.
