Thread for Coolant Temperature Sensor (JE15-18-51X)

Looked around, but couldn't find a confirmed thread type for this. I am installing a SPA combination gauge for boost and temperature, which comes with a brass thermowell/sensor/sender that has 1/8NPT threads. I want to know, for sure, the thread type of the tap on the rear iron for this, next to the oil pressure sensor/sender before I go unscrewing anything. Especially this.

Most people use a brass T-fitting in the TB coolant hose, or a radiator hose sender joint, or tap near the thermostat housing to monitor coolant temp. Are those not good options for you? I can't recall, but I think the ecu is taking temp at the rear housing. So, wasn't sure if you'd lose something by switching to the gauge.

From what I have been told, the stock gauge sender location is the best option. I have drastically simplified many things on my car, and I am not running a water line to the TB. Mine will be a track day car, so I wanted to keep a close eye on temps. This is the reason for the SPA gauge - I wanted the warning light flasher, and not many make that. Also, I understand that running a sensor/sender ahead of the thermostat is not always for everyone, as you don't get accurate readings until the thermostat opens. If that works for the track junkies around here, I would consider.

I'd look elsewhere to install, one thing not to do, is install the brass T at the engine, to run both sensors. At the end of a hose or on the radiator hose as suggested is a lot safer, as the brass usually cracks in the tread with vibration = no coolant. If you want to persist, NPT is pretty much a US only thing, you can kludge a 27tpi thread into a 28tpi hole with teflon......wouldn't recommend it, for anything critical. Vaguely recall this is BSPP not BSPT too, but long time since I've pulled one out - should be easy enough to check with verniers.

So can you confirm that it is, in fact, a BSP? Parallel makes sense, if so. Thanks!
