Thoughts on how to save a turbo from engine failure?
Is there a way or has anybody thought of how they prevent apex seal from lunching the turbo in th event of a engine failure. Turbo rebuilds are expensive and I wouldn't mind saving that unnecssary expense in the event on a engine failure.

It's not a requirement that when you blow an engine it shoots shards of damaging metal into your turbos. Actually, I would wager its more of the exception than the rule. Over the past 2-3 years, I've personally seen about 5 engines blow (including my own). None of them chucked seal pieces which damaged turbos.
Honestly, this should be the least of your worries with this car.

If anyone is really that concerned about it (and IMO, if you are pushing enough power to do that kind of damage, you should just expect to loose the turbo in that case), look at using something like the NRS Rotorsports ceramic seals.
