Lightbulb Heat Shield for Open Intake (RE Amemiya etc...)

i have RE Amemiya Intake and i wanted to get a heat shield for it....and i found a solution without making one or buying one. I used the bottom part of the stock airbox and blocked off the heat which comes from the radiator and the pipe....it has decreased the temp and you can actually feel the difference

Just an idea that poped out this morning....if you people wanna delete this thread go ahead...hahaah

I think you'd make more power if you also used the top of the airbox with a K&N filter

It's basically the same set-up Blitz SUS Intake System offers with their kit. Good Thinking!!

i currently have the same intake, although i already purchased the blitz sus intake system so your idea would be useless to me even though that was a good idea..

yea i need to do something like that. I got the blitz SUS for the blitz intercooler, since I am gonna install one later on this summer and I didn't get a heat shield. it was kind of a dissappointment, but maybe they don't have a heatshield that works easily with a FMIC. i guess i will be looking into making one later on when i get the intercooler installed. kinda off subject, but i wanted to rant.

Actually, if you have a good IC, you won't feel the difference. We had people around me test that out way back when and it didn't yield a difference (using an FMIC that is).

With the stock IC, I'm sure any cooler air will help!

a heat shield,.....?
I mean what are we talking here a couple rwhp at speed?
I would guess you would need an increase of 15 to 20 rwhp to FEEL a difference.
I didnt feel a difference when i installed my cb but i did with my dp or mp. Even when i switched from my stock intake to m2 stlye i didnt feel a difference.

I felt zero difference b/w my apexi intake and my M2 box... I do notice slightly better reaction times for the temps to come down from heat soak, though.
