Those with Kirk 4pt bar and harnesses...

What did you guys do for harness mounts? I have my bar on order and was thinking maybe the M2 bar provided the issues in the other thread get resolved. Just not sure how it will fit with the 4pt bar.

Any thoughts/pics?

Regards

Not clear on which bar you got. I got the four point 2 inch drawn-over-mandrel bar with a cross bar on the main hoop and a seat back brace connecting the cross-bar to the main hoop leg on the driver's side.

My harness is mounted to this seat back brace. You'll need two persons to install this bar with both seats removed. Dry fit with the bar with the hatch closed so that one of the hatch's gas cylinder doesn't rub (don't ask how I know) when you final fit the bar in place.

You'll need to go get 16 of the 3/8 inch washers as Kirk racing didn't provide washer and you don't want the screws to back out.

For $350.00 it was great in increasng structural rigidity and now I feel so safe that I drive like MadMax just itching for a rollover

hehe, just what I need, more confidence!

One of the main reason I wanted it was for the structural integrity and a good place to mount the harnesses.

Did you have them tab it for them or do something different? They suggest that they NOT tab it for harness as they would be concerned for getting the mounts in the right spot in line with the seat.

Thanks for the insight on the install too, was expecting it to be somewhat of a PITA, but not too bad.

When I bought my Kirk Racing bar several years ago, the tabs for the harness were an option which I purchased for the driver side.

These are just welded on horizontal pieces of metal with a hole for the harness.

I don't know how well they work, since I have not installed the harness using the tabs.

I can e-mail you a pic if you want.
