Thinking of going black rims. Help needed!

As the title says, I am thinking about changing my enkei RPF1's to black. The questions that I have are
1. Is the best way to do this via powdercoating? Or is some other technique better, like spraying. It will be done professionally and I would like a gloss finish preferably.

2. Does anyone have photos of yellow FDs with black rims?

Below is how she looks at the moment.

Thanks!

Wow.....your FD is gorgeous man !!!!!! Polish the exhaust and leave it the way it is now....The only way I would change those rims is if you put the FD 1999+ mesh ones. Black rims looks best on Red and black......I wouldn't do it on yellow IMHO.

I would leave those wheels alone, because your FD looks SWEET the way it is! I would think that if you can afford a multi-layered stone driveway like your FD is sitting on that you can buy you an extra set of black wheels and keep the ones you got Anyway, leave it alone!

Thanks for the feedback guys, but not much help

nutbagsan: is powder coating the best way to colour rims? Is the powdercoat glossy or matt?

Alex: I have the reamemiya guage, but it is in a regular cup, at a 45 degree to the window side. So, it isn't much to look at. I will send you photos if you want though, pm me.

Hus: it isn't what i can or can't afford, it is what my wife will let me spend. lol. I never knew you could tell so much by looking at a drive way.

All: Has anyone got anyother photos of yellow and black together?

powdercoating puts an incredibly hard, glossy finish on metal. Black is one of the easiest, and thereby cheapest, colors to powdercoat.

I have a set of stock black powdercoated rims, but I think they'd look better with a silver rim.

And I think Damian had some black rims on his CYM racecar.

We own a powdercoat shop, and rims are easy to get done. Just make sure you get a reputable place that preps and powders them properly or else they will look bad and the paint won't last.

PS: Black on yellow looks awesome. Do it.

Now we are talking, thanks guys that is very helpful. I think I have found a reputable place, I guess time will tell. I am hoping for a very hard, and glossy finish, so that sounds like my solution.

I like yellow on black, hoping the car will look a little meaner, a little more badass.

I will post when I get it done, but that could be a couple of months before I get to it.
