thinking aobut a j-spec engine for FD
listen up FD engine gurus.... i have an chance to purchase a complete engine from japan. the only thing i would lack is the ecu. the car in japan is a 94 and my car is also a 94. what would be the difference between the jspec engine to use it for USA purposes. or does it just bolt right up? also would my 94 ecu work until i get a pfc? any help would great

There are no differences except for the EGR. You can always take off the parts of the US spec motor and put them on the J-Spec one.
I ran a J-Spec no problem for over a year till the car was stolen. You will have to use the US wire harness too.
If you want to drop the complete motor in some of the wires have to be redone due to the EGR.

I thought jspec engines were the same as us ones. Not true? I thought only the turbos are different.
